Koroni is a picturesque coastal town of Messinia. It lies 52 km southwest of Kalamata and 104km from Kyparissia and has about 2000 inhabitants. It is famous for the Venetian Castle which towers over the city, and which is still inhabited today. Walk along the streets among the whitewashed village houses and enjoy the view as you go down to the harbor. Walk around the city, visit the museum, the Holy Church of Panagia Eleistria, with the palm forest and the magnificent view to the beach of Zaga. Don’t forget to visit the Cathedral of Saint Dimitrios and the central clock of the city.
In the harbor, you can find cafes, tourist shops and traditional taverns with the characteristic of “hanging octapus”, where you can taste delicious dishes. Every summer are organised events in Koroni, such as theatrical or musical perfomances, dance festival, feast with sardines, barcarolle (rides with boats), and more.
The largest beach “Memi”, with fine sand, sun beds – umbrellas, shower, beach volley court and football court , parking space along the street and with restaurants nearby.
The quiet beach “Kryoneri”, located just below the houses – a quiet creek surrounded by rocks - access from stone steps, fine gravel and source of drinking water. People that love fishing will enjoy this beach.

The beach “Agios Nikolaos” is located next to the beach “Kryoneri” . It is larger than “Kryoneri” but it has fine gravel too. Also in a more distant destinations you can find other beaches, such as “Ammoudi”, “Tsapi”, “Peroulia”, “Agia Triada”, “Kalamaki” etc.
The unique location of Marias Houses also offers the possibility to walk in the magnificent “Koroni” and enjoy fresh fish and other delicious dishes at the traditional taverns . You can visit the village “Vasilitsi” with the magnificent view and its traditional tavern, famous all over the world. You can make excursions to the nearest villages of “Foinikounta” and “Gialova”. You can visit the village “Methoni”, well known for the Venetian Castle that enchants every visitor and village “Pylos” for its Navarino. Sports enthusiasts can taste their skills in golf at “The Bay Course” and “The Dunes Course” at Costa Navarino with magnificent view at see and at the historic Bay of Navarino.
It is also worth visiting the "Polylimnio" consisting of 15 natural lakes, waterfalls and paths lined with trees for nature lovers and not only and "Ancient Messini" with the local archaeological museum that exhibits findings of past and recent excavations and with the ancient theater where musical or theatrical events take place during the summer months.
